On April 25th, our middle school FAM club visited the Philadelphia Zoo Community Night with tickets courtesy of the Philadelphia Reading Captains. The students had a wonderful time as they learned and discovered new animals and learned about their habitats.
The Reading Captains are caring individuals who are right in our area that support literacy. They work collaboratively with Read by 4th staff and community partners and are committed to protecting every child’s right to read. Motivated is excited and proud to be a partner.
Our Fearless and Motivated (FAM) club, is where girls who participate receive support in career development and self-esteem building. The group also engages in team activities, outings, and other empowering and confidence-boosting fun activities. The club meets on Wednesdays from 1 - 3 pm and we are looking to develop an afterschool FAM club where more students from area public schools and participate.
